IN THE OFF SEASON
July 20, 2020
On July 12th we had a freak storm that came out of no where and produced a small tornado at the home ranch.  There was some damage to some of the structures but non to the lodge or the ranch house.  Lots and lots of down branches around though, it took a crew and four days to clean up all the down branches around camp.  Still have some to go here and there, but the good news is there will not be a shortage of firewood for camp.  Also it did dump a bout 1" of rain in a very short period, it rained so hard so quickly that the water came in just a little in the front door of the lodge.  During all of this no one was at the ranch but our little doggie, kitties, and horses.  They were all pretty shook up and our doggie was hidding for a bit as we couldn't find her, I felt the worst had happend.  But she finally came hobbling up the road like a drown rat.

About Mid July we start having guide days, this is when our faithful and loyal gang of "misfits" (just kidding) we couldn't do it with out these guys, come when they can and help out around the ranches mending old blinds, painting, brush clearing, you name it they do it.  Darren has earlier on gone to every blind and inspected it and made notes for any repairs needed.

Shortly After season is over the hunt is on for Me and Darren!  It's a friendly competition, but maybe not?  We both love to look for shed antlers, and it makes it much more enjoyable when we ar efinding them.  One day, I just new I had him beat, I think I may have found 12, but he informed me he had found 14 and the day before 6.  Well Shoot.  Horn hunting is one of my favorite things to do.
