Turkey season is kicking off in 12 days for the Lodge. We have had a ton of technical difficulites with the trail cameras this year, so please bear with us. It continues to be very, very dry and dusty in west TX. Wildfires have have spurred across the state. The birds are still staying close to watering spots but we have been seeing them making their rounds and routes.

It's just one minth away to the 2022 turkey season. It has been very dry as of late, actually since last September have we had any significant moisture in the area. Looking back at last years trail camera pics make me say wow, it was so green. The turkeys are around but seem to be sticking closer to water points. It's a bit early for tom's to be strutting but before long it's going to happen. Stay tuned as we get more geared up with the trail cams. A special thanks to Tony Keiffer, Dick Irons, Buryl Williams, and Jerry Watts for all the help with this enormous project.

Looks like the mature bucks and going to be awesome this year! With all the moisutre we have had they are chunky. We received another 2" of rain at the home ranch since the last batch of photos, ya'll veteran hunters will be shocked at the amount of feed and how green it is.

We had some technical difficulty with the trail cameras recently, therefor we have a limited group of photos. However, they are some nice shots. Included is a great shot of our guide Dick, notice he is wearing his favorite shirt, if you see him in camp ask hime what color it is. Kinda a camp joke!
This group of photos is from the last two weeks, our guides Dick, Tony, and Buryl just put out a bunch more cameras so we are looking forward to seeing some fresh pictures from new ground.

Many of the pictures are of the same bucks, just different angles. I posted so many because they are all just great bucks. Zoom in on them if you can. I'm so excited for season to get here.
Here we are looking at the same buck in three different angles. On his left side (right side head on) is starting to fork on his G2 and that G1 is going to be very long. It is looking possible that he may for on the other side as well. It will be cool to follow his growth if he sticks around.
