ABOUT BOOKING A HUNT WITH ADOBE LODGE

You’ve read our material.  You’ve called some references.  You’ve checked with your hunting buddies and are convinced (and who couldn’t be?) that the Adobe Lodge is the place for your next hunt.  Now what?

It’s time to contact us – either by phone or by e-mail.  We’ll take a look at the dates we have open.  When you make your choice, that’s it.  Presto.  The hunt is booked at that very moment.  If someone calls five minutes later wanting that date, it’s too bad.  The date is already taken.  It is yours because you said so.

We’ll then send you our Booking Agreement Contract.  It spells out the dates of your hunt and has deposit information.  The balance of the hunt price is due by the date shown on the Booking Agreement.  Some hunters prefer to pay this balance on arrival in camp with cash or its equivalent (cashier’s check, traveler’s checks, etc.).  This is acceptable only if you let us know your intentions by the date your balance is due.  Again – you must let us know you will be paying in cash upon arrival in camp.

Now we have “a deal” (as described in the Booking Agreement Contract).  We are holding this hunt date for you (and/or your party).  The hunt is no longer for sale.  Therefore, we expect and need for you to come.  The deposit holds the hunt date.  The balance is due when it is due.

IF THESE PAYMENTS ARE NOT MADE BY THE DATE SHOWN ON THE BOOKING AGREEMENT, WE NO LONGER “HAVE A DEAL”, AND THE HUNT IS AGAIN FOR SALE TO A HUNTER WHO WILL PAY THE FEES WHEN THEY ARE DUE.  We will send you a postcard letting you know we received your payment.

What happens if there is a crisis?  What if, God forbid, there is a death in the family? Or some other dire emergency?  By all means, let us know as quickly as possible.  Maybe we can re-schedule your hunt to a later date when we can fit you in somewhere.  Maybe we can sell the hunt to someone else.  If we can, you get your deposit back.

Please understand that we are not in the business of collecting money from booked hunters without giving them their hunt.  But neither can we take a booking as casually as if it were a dinner reservation.  If we lose a hunter on a hunt, that slot can’t be used later as if it were somehow “left-over”.  That slot is a “period of time” in our schedule, and so far, no one has been able to “save time”.  To us it’s gone and can’t be made up.

So when you pick the hunt you want, let us know and we’ll start the ball (or in this case, the paperwork) rolling.  We want you to hunt with us, but we cannot afford the lost revenue if a booked hunter backs out on our deal.
