Ben McCulloch - Mustang Ranch Camp
      Mustang Ranch Camp

Since 2004, Ben McCulloch and his Mustang Ranch have been hosting Adobe Lodge hunters.  Both for deer in the fall, and turkeys in the spring, the Mustang Ranch Camp is a great place for parties of four or five hunters.

Hunt 1      December 9 - 12

When deer season comes to the Mustang Ranch Camp, you can bet that Hammonton, NJ will send a team of hunters down for the action.  This tradition dates back to 2004.

Usually, the Hammonton guys come early in the season, but some complications here and there delayed their arrival until early December.  Three Mustang Ranch veterans and one first-timer came within two slots of totally filling the tally board.  The vets were Ross Restuccio, Carmen Grasso and Kevin Niedoba.  Actually, Kevin hails from nearby Berlin, a mere technicality.  The newcomer was Frank Ingemi, the police chief of Hammonton.

Counting all the deer harvested, you'd wonder if they had any ammunition left.  Ross took a buck and four does.  Carmen- a buck and three does.  Kevin, who has years of Adobe Lodge-style hunting on his resume at two different camps, took five, yep that's 5, does.  Kevin will pass buck after buck in his quest to find a super, top-notch set of horns.  That didn't happen in 2010, but he stocked his freezer with plenty of venison for the long New Jersey winter.

Frank Ingemi collected a buck and two does, then finished-up by taking a management buck.

Except for one blustery day with a strong, dry southwest wind, the weather was good.  And so was the food.  Reason - Ben McCulloch II did his usual outstanding job of feeding the hungry troops.

Guides Mike Turner and Wes Pullig were plenty busy in the skinning shed processing the eighteen deer taken by the four hunters.
